SIXTY THREE POUNDS LOST NOW AND COUNTING...UPDATED 65lbs lost Talk about HUNGER NOT STARVATION, nausea, EXHAUSTION, soreness, PAIN and SWEAT!!! Tears too. A lot of suffering let me tell you but worth it. I am now smaller after my third kid than after my second which proves calorie counting and working out longer, harder and more frequently works better than eating 30 carbs a day on Atkins and only working out 4-6 hrs a week. Atkins also eats muscle tone so NOW I have way more defined muscle tone than ever. Atkins is unnecessary torture! Makes you so TIRED and you climb the walls wanting a piece of bread. I did it for 2 years. SLIMFAST is also crap. It worked but man was I HUNGRY HUNGRIER THAN EVER! I did that after my first child was born. Wouldn't you rather have a nice filling bowl of oatmeal for the same amount of calories as some shake which leaves you feeling hungry as hell? Better to eat whole foods and leave out the foods packed in salt, sugar, additives, preservatives and chemicals! I also cut down on cheese, bread (I eat it in moderation), condiments and salad dressings. I ALSO HIGHLY RECOMMEND LOTS AND LOTS OF VEGETABLES, lean meats and WHOLE grains and a little fruit and dairy and FIBER (not the sugarfree stuff with sorbitol it gives you a tummy ache) and FISH OIL 1000 mgs SUPPLEMENTS TO KEEP FEELING FULL. I avoided restaurants ( I LOVE SALTY APPETIZERS CHALKED FULL OF FAT!) and desserts too eating a square of dark chocolate if I had a bad craving. A cup and a half of food 4-6 times a day usually fills me up pretty well. Keeping blood sugar even throughout the day is key so you have energy and also to prevent binging. Also starving only stores MORE fat! Eat brown rice instead of pasta or if you must eat it eat 1/2-1 cup ONLY in a RED not creamy white cheesy sauce. ALSO! I never drive ANYWHERE I walk like the Europeans do. What else? Shake up your routine! Don't do the same exact workout everyday. Also confuse your metabolism. Eat 1200 calories one day and 1600 the next. Also let yourself have one meal every 2 weeks where you eat whatever you want until you are full and take a day of rest! I find that when i do this my body lets go of weight fast! Yoga helps reduce cortisol stress hormone levels which keep fat on your belly. Walking helps burn fat stores in your tummy even better than running. I take 90 minute walks. The fat burning process takes effect after the 30 minute point. DON'T DRINK POP NOT EVEN DIET! OH I forgot try not to eat past 6 your metabloism slows down. If I get hungry at nigth I have a rice cake. I don't exclude any foods. I eat olive oils and avocados and nuts and potatoes in small amounts OKay I guess I avoid candy, chips and crackers like the plague... Using amino acid 5HTP 150 mgs worked for me as an appetite suppressant (research it before using it), Turbo Jam kickboxing dvd's (which have fast music and fun moves=much higher intensity and harder work than regular kickboxing also incorporating more arm work and about 10 minutes of burning squats which I LOVE), Power Yoga, running, speed walking and rollerblading ( I used to stair step too until it built up my butt and thighs so big I had to go up a pants size and it also killed my knees and back)... also calorie counting... over the last year has gotten me down to my lowest goal weight after baby number 3 at 36! YAY! I'm feeling very fit, fast and strong! I HAVE THE ENDURANCE, STRENGTH, STAMINA AND FLEXIBILITY I HAD IN MY TEENS! I'm a perfect size 6 ( 7 in juniors...a medium) now. I never thought I could really succeed with slowing metabolism and all but I did it! I feel like Linda Hamilton in Terminator 2 or Michelle Rodrigues in Girlfight! WOOHOO! I have been working out for 25 years now and my father was a body builder so I have some idea how to take off weight and keep it off. I lost 70lbs in 8.5 months after my first child and had a bikini body. I lost 50lbs in 5.5 months after my second and 63lbs in 12 months after my third. Maintaining and toning the tummy more should be fun after having had three children!!! Legs and arms have more toned muscle and definiton than ever before in my life, I think. It's easy as pie for me to workout full intensity for 2 hours a day. It's CAKE! It's just simple routine now. A habit. No problem! Believe me working out is not as easy at say 155lbs! The smaller you get the simpler it becomes! Often times I take kid for walks in the three-wheeled double stroller or do yoga as they nap or run laps in our huge backyard while they play outside even. I do Turbo Jam while they play INSIDE. Sometimes the girls will even do Turbo Jam with me! I make time. It's hard because I have to find time and energy for the kids and housecleaning as well. I try to take down time to relax and read in the evenings too. Hoping to NOT gain the usual 5-10lbs around the holidays! I want to enjoy X-Mas and all but I wnna look fabulous in my New Year's Eve dress too! I am avoiding gravy and taking only 3 small bites of dessert and eating until 75% full only and continuing exercise of course but maybe take a few days off for X-Mas. Also gonna try to stick to light beers or small glasses of wine! Also gonna stay away from the bread basket.
You are great. I am so inspired, I plan on using a lot of your tips and I really hope they work...Thank you for putting them out there.
I am going to print out your tips.....some of them I knew already but reading it here inspired me! thank you and CONGRATS! I know this was nothing but oure hard work and dedication on your part!
Great job! You look awesome, too, btw, in your pic. I am going to print this and try it for myself. You just inspired me...I want my pre-kid body back, too! My hard thing to do is to give up my Mt. Dew, I think mainly becasue of the caffeine in it. If I don't have at least one can a day, I get a miserable headache! Thanks for these tips and inspiration! :)

Awesome - thank you!! You look great!
That's awesome. My only goal is to get to 160 before May 23rd. I'm at 170 right now. If I get there, I can get my tattoo when I go back to California!

Wow, this is so awesom, sounds like me, I used to excercise all the time prior to kids, with my second one I lost all the weight and then some without trying, though nursing probably helped, I could anything and still loose, which was really odd for me! But, since last winter I put on a bunch of weight, at least 12lbs, and on my small frame and being only 5' 3" it shows up fast. My stomach has really gone to pot (no pun intended!) I now have dimples on my belly!! What the heck??? I have such a hard time controling my urges to eat, especially in the evening. OH, and chocolate! Don't even go there! I will have to look up the excrecises you spoke about. I really like Tae Boe (sp), but had hurt my back and had to stop, I am much better now so I should try to get back into it. It's so hard to self-motivate myself now with my two girls. My husband tends to not be much help either. I intend to reread your post when I have more time, it sounds like you have a lot to share which are good ideas that I could definitely use!! Thank you for sharing. You look great inthe pics, and your tattoos are beautiful!
I have to go, kids and hubby are calling, will read more of your posts later. Again, excellent job, you've certainly worked hard! Woo-hoo!
