THE MAN IN THE DOORWAY

this is a good story and one ive been asked to write about.

First time i saw my hubby was right after my first divorce. I saw him walk out of an Army recruiting office all dressed in uniform, I was driving by in my car, and i saw him there he was all tall and handsome, my jaw dropped literally. I drove on by and thoguth i got to go back and see him again, so i jerked my car into a parking lot, turned around and drove back and he was gone. I drove tha same path everyday , looking for him, thoughtabout stopping in but I never did. I eventalluy married another and moved away, but came back a couple of yrs later and went about my life but I never forgot that handsome stranger.

Several years later a friend invited me to go out to a bar with her and I almos tdidnt go cause it was known to be a rough place. Fights every night and sorry to say but bad things went on in that bar, but I went anyway. We had sat down and had a drink and these two guys walked in, one i knew the other one i didnt.

They was both pretty dirty looking cause they was mechanics, but one seemed to take my breathe away , even through the greese and grime. I wanted him to notice me so bad. but he ignored me at first, I had on a black mini skirt so I decided he needed a closer look, I got up and headed for the ladies room and all of a sudden i hear "Hello Darlin" , my heart melted. I turned around and ya it was him and he said "hey my friend wants to know your name?" i told him "Your friend knows me already" and I stopped and talked with him for a bit , next thing i know its after midnight and I spent the whole night talking to R. well R and I decided to meet the next night at a different bar, a dance club, I went home and I still to this day don't remember the conversation from the whole night but I know I was in love .

So th next night i got dressed in my best outfit and went to the dance club alone to wait for R. and he never showed, he stood me up.. I was so mad, and hurt, I didn't want to see him again.  I went on about my life for about a week , then one day as I was leaving my apartment there he was parked i front of my house. I looked at him and started to walk away and he yelled at me to come over , Ok i swallowed my pride and went , just to see what he was going to say.

When I got to the passenger side of his truck he had  a pack of cigarettes, (my brand), and coke,(my brand) and a rose.  And he said "I'm sorry can we please go somewhere and talk? Please?" so I told him he had 30 mins and we talk at the park where theres people.

He told me tried to meet me the weekend before but got arrested for of all things DUI and was in jail.

His last DUI by the way. But he was so sorry he stood me up and asked me to give him a chance he could prove he was worthy of me, I found out he had spend 2 hrs driving around my block hoping to see me cause he wasn't sure which house was mine. He knew the area I lived in but not the exact spot.

Well we dated for 2 months. during this time is when i found out he was my dream man from years ago, we compared live stories and eh showed me picutres and Ya it was him.  Soon after we moved in together . We lived together with alot of ups and downs for 2 yrs. and during all that time we had lots of people tell us we was wrong for each other we would never make it together, friends and family both  One day we decided to move to Florida so we got married and moved...Now we have been married for 8 yrs.  And we are very happily married

He is my dream man and always was.

Awww Katie thank you so much for sharing your story with me it was beautiful. It reminded me of how my late husband and I met somewhat. I love it that you guys proved them all wrong too!!!
