Well, yesterday was the girls' last day of attendance in public school. We are receiving all of our materials next week. The girls had to be un-enrolled in their present school before we could enroll them in the program that they are in. So, in preparation of this day and the next few to come, I came up with my own projects and mini curriculum. The girls had a wonderful day. They are so eager to learn, thank goodness. They enjoy learning, and are eager to get this thing up and running. We have our central station all finished, thanks to hubby. He built a desk and cabinets, I think I mentioned that in my last post. I am sure that it will take a month or two to get completely organized and have things the way that I want, but it is going very well.

I am wondering why it took me so long to do this. It feels so right and natural for our family. I am so thankful that I am able to stay home with my children, and I am also fortunate that I have such a supportive husband and great kids.

Thank you to all of you Mama's who have given me support, and ideas....I will keep you posted in the weeks to come on how it is going! Muah!!!!

Sounds great!!!!!!  So, I gather that there is a "place" that sends you the "materials".  I would like to know what that means exactly?  I've read very good things about homeschooling and how most kids end up going to college and being very successful.  I would be interested.  Thanks and GOOD FOR YOU!!

I'm interested as well.  What type of program are you using and does it include any social activities with other homeschoolers?  I read about a program like that.

I am actually going through a so called charter school. They don't actually have a school site, but that is what they are classified as...they are funded by the state, and my kids will have so many more opportunities than those in public school....simply because their money will not be used on things like toilet paper and bogus things.....and yes Jenelle, there are many opportunities for them to do social things like, field trips, acting classes, etc.........the school I awesome. I hand picked them. They are ellite, and their staff is awesome. They will be involved as I want them to be, or they won't be at all if I don't want them to be. I get to choose my own curriculums, which is super cool. It is a very exciting time. I am only sorry that I didn't do this sooner....

Well, you know that I will be watching you closely  (did you see that crayon under the table).  =D

I have the feeling I will need to do this also.  But like you know, it is a year by year with the girls.  If I get a bad teacher - out they come.  I would like to know more about the field trips and stuff.  But we can go over it when you get your stuff and have been doing this for longer than a day.  It is going to be so much fun for you and the girls.  Enjoy them!  HUGS!
