Like most people we do not have the money to purchase a lot of gifts for our families. Our (mine, dh, and ds's) Christmas is very simple. We don't celebrate Santa Claus or have a Christmas tree (I do not look down on people who do--it is just a choice that we made for our family). Instead I build a nativity set the night before Christmas and the wise men bring my ds 3 presents in honor of Jesus' birthday.
For all of the children (nieces and nephews) I bought really nice books from Books-A-Million. Many of the books were on sale so it didn't cost very much. I spent less than $80.00 on 7 children. All of the books are hard back and have great art. I am also going to make hard rock candy and marshmallows and place them in gift bags for the older people (i.e. parents, brothers, sister). For my momma I bought her an ornament that has all of her grand children's names on it. So for 9 families I I spent $100.
That makes me very happy!

Excellent job! I find Christmas to have turned to be way too commercial over the past 30 years. I try my hardest to spend as little as possible and do things for people rather then buy them things. I can't stand having credit card bills in January that take up to June to pay off . And then in June the things you just paid off are either broken, torn, lost, or being thrown out.
