Motrin has come out with a video on their homepage about how babywearing is a fad, may or may not be beneficial to baby, shows mom as selfish, talk about how it makes her look like an "official mom".
Sick.

Wearing your baby seems to be in fashion.
I mean, in theory it’s a great idea.
There’s the front baby carrier, sling, schwing, wrap, pouch.
And who knows what else they’ve come up with. Wear your baby on your side, your front, go hands free.
Supposedly, it’s a real bonding experience.
They say that babies carried close to the bod tend to cry less than others.
But what about me? Do moms that wear their babies cry more than those who don’t?
I sure do!
These things put a ton of strain on your back, your neck, your shoulders. Did I mention your back?!
I mean, I’ll put up with the pain because it’s a good kind of pain; it’s for my kid.
Plus, it totally makes me look like an official mom.
And so if I look tired and crazy, people will understand why.
Vote popular and get the word out!

Wow...that's pretty low!! Did they even look into ANY research about baby wearing??
Eww screw Motrin. They won't be getting any of my money anymore. I bet at least half of them were worn in slings by their moms when they were babies!
What an idiotic commercial.
Moms who wear their babies rock.
However, as a former child care person, I feel I must add that babies who are accustomed to being worn close to the body all of the time tend to be pretty miserable at daycare. Usually I would have four babies to care for, and while I sang to them, rocked them, held them, loved them as I was able-------------I physically was not able to wear them all of the time. Three of my babies were fine with this, but the one baby who was used to being worn and sleeping with mommy was pretty miserable. She went through a sort of withdrawl. I felt like I couldn't give her what she needed. I found myself wishing her mommy had prepared her better for childcare.
That's all. Childcare aside, I think babywearing is great, if you can do it.
I emailed them- you can do the same: https://www.motrin.com/page.jhtml?id=/motrin/include/email.inc
