My History Making weekend!

It was Saturday November 15^th a friend called me asked me what I was doing. I said I'm just at my Roo's School Fall festival hang out. She told me to head home and Pack. I said why? She had and extra ticket to Homestead Miami Speedway Ford 400!!!! For all of you non NASCAR fans that is the last race of the season where we crown the 2008 champion! Since my Driver was in the running for the champion. I was Ecstatic. I keep asking her if it was for real! She said yet. When she called me it was little before 1pm. We live about 5hrs from Homestead. She was leaving about 3pm. So that meant I had to go home and PACK!!! Ahhhhhh

I was still in shock that I was really going to be going to the Ford 400 to possibility see Jimmie Johnson win his 3^rd consecutive championship. 1 other guy has done that and that was well over 30yrs ago! So Jimmie would be making history if he did win again this year. I called Allison back and left her a message asking her if it was for real! Of course it was for real!! So we get all the plans square away. We meet up by the interstate and I jump in her car and then we were off! It was Allison her DD and Myself. I was still in disbelief that I was really on my way to Homestead but it was 100% real! From where we live it's about 5 hr drive. We left her Sister in laws about 4:30pm or so. We made it down with just a few mishaps. No go this way no this way. So yeah 3 women in the car we had to do a few U turns. But that's ok we made it down there just fine. We grab something to eat then off to find a hotel. I was kind of worry that we would have been sleeping in the truck because all of the hotel rooms would be booked up! We did find a room at the first place we stop at SCORE!!!! The room wasn't that bad. I have stay at much worst place! Heck it was even that from the track either so it was all good.

I woke up at 7am!!! I was so excited! Plus I couldn't sleep since I'm so use to getting up at 5am any way. So sleeping in to 7 was good for me. Allison and her DD Sleep until about 9-9:30am. Witch was cool the track didn't even open up until 10am. Race didn't start until 4 something so we still had plenty of time. We left the hotel about 11am Head over to the track. We were very surprised that the parking was free! Every other track parking is like 40-60 bucks to park! So free was AWESOME! It wasn't even that far from the track either. We went shopping first to get all our goodies so we didn't have to carry them with us the rest of the day. We Stop one of the tent and I got my face painted with I <3 48 on it. Allison got her 44 and her DD got 48 on there arms. We got our goodies. I picked up a new JJ shirt and visor! So of course I had to change into it. he he. I didn't care for the shirt I had on. So it worked out! We head back to the truck to drop off our stuff and get our stuff that we would need for the race. We hung out at the truck for a bit because it was only like 12:30pm and still had a crap load of time to kill. So we did a little tailgating. We started back for the track by this time we were all hungry! So when we got up there we got something to eat before heading to our seats. We got to our seats and they were in Row one right across from Jimmie pit box! SCORE!!! Love being about to watch Jimmie during his pit stops! Our seats were Right as they were coming out of turn 4 so very nice only down fall is that we couldn't see the backstretch because of the darn tents they had across from us for the VIP's!!! blah! If we were a few more rows up wouldn't had been a problem, or if the darn tents weren't there. Once we made it to our seats we still had about 30 mins to kill so I went wondering down taking pictures of stuff! I went down to the Start/finish line well they were doing this Champion thing. I got to see Jimmie come out for that. Then I made it alllllllll the way down to the first pit stall to get a picture of David Reutimann!! David is from Zephyrhills so of course I had to get a picture and plus Allison would have killed me if I didn't...LOL As I was walking all the way back I get to my seat they said the command "Gentlemen Start Your Engines" I have to say that guy SUCKED ASS!!! I mean come on!! Really couldn't he put a little more effort into it!!! Once the cars started up my stomach went into knots! I was soo nervous through out the whole race! I wanted JJ to win soooo bad as I'm sure every other JJ fan wanted him too. As far as the race It was quite boring. When Aric Almirola spun out that happen right before us!!! All we could see was smoke from his tires! Ahhh love that smell! When there were 10 laps to go I stared to really freak out! I could tell Jimmie was just riding around being very careful! When 2 laps left I ran to the stars to I could get some pictures! Waited and waited and Wait. Jimmie sat on the backstretch and let Carl have his moment witch I thought was cool. I'm sure he was told that before the race started who ever wins the cup to go to back and wait for the race winner to do his thing. Once all that was done Here come Jimmie from turn 4!!! I really didn't get any good pictures of this because I had tears in my eyes and trying to focus a camera not the easiest thing to do. LOL But I did get pictures of him doing his burn out and him standing on top of his car they are kid of hard to see with all that smoke! But still very cool!! We walked down to the start Finish line to watch the celebration of him getting his Cup!!! Man that was awesome! I did get some confetti from that!!! =) That's so going my scrapbook!!! We waited a little bit long then head to the car! We pull out of our parking spot at 8:23pm and we got to my house at 1:13am! So 4hrs and 50min to get back to my house. I finally feel asleep about 2:30 or so and had to be up at 6:00am. It took everything I had pulled my self out of bed about 6:20am. I was soooo close to calling in but I need my Job!!! So all in all It was an Awesome Weekend!!! When I get home tonight if I'm not too tired I'll will work on my pictures and try to get them posted! But don't hold your breath...LOL This defiantly was a weekend I'll never for get! Thank you Jennifer for keeping us up dated! Also a very special Thank you Allison for inviting me!!!
