A few years ago I joined Cafemom and was very involved. I belonged to, as well as managed, several groups. I don't remember how long ago it was when things went down hill but I would have to say well over a year ago. Slowly I started cutting back on my groups as well as my contacts. It seems I had forgotten, and maybe I have again, what it's like to have large groups of women together. It appears to me that it almost always seems to turn into cat fights and women turn on women. That happened in the fairly large group of women I was involved with, with people taking sides against others. It all started when one of the original members had turned on others and had essentially shown her true colors, then as we women do, the paranoia set in and everyone became suspect.
In the end I erased everything, stopped all contact with those that I had spent many hours with online and on the phone and walked away. Several months ago I created a new profile and looked around a bit but I wasn't ready to jump in just yet. Now may be the time for that but I will hopefully be more cautious this time as well as not get as involved as I once was. All things considered, I like the concept and the idea behind Cafemom.
