Yesterday on the view, Joy Behar opened her mouth and out spilled - surprise, surprise - more ignorant, uninformed vitriol. During a discussion on whether or not President-elect Obama's girls should attend public or private school, homeschooling was brought up and Ms. Behar called homeschooled children "demented". She didn't say it just once, either.

They only allow 500 characters, so it is kind of hard to get the full gist of my justified anger at them across, but this is what I sent to them:
"I am a homeschooling mom and I take umbrage at Joy Behar's comments calling homeschooled children "demented". Ms. Behar's ignorance is the main reason I do not watch your show. My children are very intelligent, as are most hs'd children. It's obvious what her public school education has done for her. Her near-constant attacks on conservatives is sickening. I will be contacting your sponsors and filing complaints with them."

Joy Behar is just rude, ignorant too. I do not like that woman. I loved how O'Reilly put her down when he was on the show. That's the only time I've watched The View in a long time. I wanted to see how she would react to him. She wasn't able to get her big, smart mouth in the conversation much. I loved it. I quit watching The View when they hired Rosie O'Donnell. I know she got canned, but I don't like Whoopi, Wawa, or Behar. The only one I ever enjoyed was Elizabeth. I sent a complaint letter to the show's producers and the network about Behar's ignorant comment. Many other people have also. Hopefully they'll get enough complaints to reel her in, or better, fire her.
I don't watch it, either, but I did watch when O'Reilly was on. She really does not like him and made it plain. He was so good, though! I don't know how Elisabeth can go on there day after day.
How rude!!! What's next? Is she going to say..ADHD/ADD children are stupid?? Homeschooling does not make children demented!!! If I could teach Johnnie I would homeschool but he needs special attention.

I agree with you... her comments were very rude. However, as a public school teacher, I can't help but be slightly offended by your comment as well ("It's obvious what her public school education has done for her"). it's true, public school policies, etc. often leave a lot to be desired. But there are truly wonderful and caring teachers in the public school system... just the same way that I know many wonderful, successful HS'd children and teachers. But I also know many children who did not receive a good HS education.
