So, somehow, I was selected to test a new HP computer.  It is the HP Touchsmart.  I was out of town today until later in the evening and it had arrived by the time I got home.  First impressions: Man, that is a big box for a little flat screen computer, Man, that is a heavy box for a computer with no tower and HECK... how on earth am I going to pick it up?   Once I opened the box, the box inside, housing the computer was not much smaller and, not surprisingly, just as heavy.  I was very pleased with the one piece design of the computer and monitor...very cool and space saving.  Another very cool aspect:  the screen is ginormous.  The place that I had planned to keep the computer would simply not do.  I think once the Christmas tree is gone, it will have a permanent home in that corner...for now, well...I have some figuring out to do!

The sound quality, from what I've heard thus far, is excellent, and the picture quality is wonderful.  I am still a little confused about the touch screen component even after watching the I suppose I am going to have to read the book.  = )

We are having a Christmas party soon, so I plan on doing a playlist for the parties (we're doing one family and one for friends) I look forward to learning how to do this... I think this will be a great tool, once I am not intimitated by it.

The computer was easy to set up, literally take it out of the box and plug it in.  There is a wireless card built in and so I didn't have to search high and low for an ethernet cable to hook up to the router... so I was quite impressed by that.

This isn't the greatest photo of the computer, it was night and not the right light, but I will get a better one... its current home is next to the Christmas tree. (Edited photo for your viewing pleasure!)

So, for now, that's it... I will be spending some time reading the manual, I suppose!

This is just an awesome opportunity to test this product and I extend many thanks to CafeMom and HP for this program.  I pray that the outcome of your research is fulfilled and is beneficial to you!

I to was selected to test a new  the HP Touchsmart. I got it  tonight and its still in the box,but I did take a look at it and you are right the screen is giant! (26 inches). My DD turned 9 on Nov 20th and we are having her birthday party here Saturday with 12 kids running around, and we need to rearrange because I didn't expect the screen to be so big! (did you see the price it is?)

I'll write up my review some time saturday night ( I cant wait!!)

Oh wow!  This is SOOOoooo technically above me, but I'm assuming touch smart means no keys???  Too heady for me, but I'm sure glad you're excited. :)
