Wow, I can't believe I'm a van-drivin' mommy of two now. It feels so great. My c-section couldn't have gone any better. I was delayed for about two hours because 2 people needed to have emergency c-sections. So I couldn't deliver at 9 as scheduled. I had baby James at 11:32am. He weighed 8.8lbs and was 20.5 inches long. The worst part of the c was getting the spinal block. I was really scared because I never had one before and I was worried it wouldn't take effect and I would feel something. But I didn't feel anything but tugging and lots of pressure on my ribs. We were so excited when he came out. James went with him as I was finished up. He didn't hesitate to put a football in his arms and take a million pictures in his "Heisman" pose. When I was in recovery, I nursed him and he latched on right away. He seemed like an old pro and I felt like a seasoned vet since I nursed Olivia for 16 months. I spent most of the day texting/talking with family and friends. I had my parents, my mil and Olivia come for a visit today. I'm expecting more fam/friends tomorrow. Olivia already loves her baby brother. She was a little hesitant at first, but she knew that her baby brother had arrived since I talked to her about it everyday. She even got a new baby doll from him. She was more interested in holding baby James instead. So we propped her on the bed and she held him and kissed him. It was such a memorable sight to see. I think she is going to be a very good big sister. She really didn't hug and kiss me too much because I was hooked up to an iv and I think that it scared her. Hopefully I will not be hooked up to anything tomorrow and she'll come and visit and won't be worried about "mommies owies." My lil guy has been sleeping all day. I think he'll be more active tomorrow. I'm just on cloud 9 right now.
