Here's what the little bugger is getting:
Little Tikes Sizzle Kitchen
+ a huge package of playfood from Target and a shopping cart
My mom bought him this Tag reading system set from Sams Club. It says ages 4-6 but I played with it at the store and it's not that hard. Plus, we can do it WITH him. I think by just following the pen over the words it will make him more aware of letters and sounds.
He might not be able to do it by himself right away but I was running out of big gift ideas ;) so we bought him 2 books on sale and a coworker bought 2 on clearance at Walmart for $2 each and gave them to me for FREE! So $56 worth of books for 20 bucks!

We also bought him some more first readers with the pictures in the sentences so they can read along. He loves these! We got him an Elmo puzzle book too because he's starting to get into piecing the puzzles together on the floor rather than the drop the piece in the right spot type.
The Leapfrog Clickstart. We didn't buy him any games. I kind of hope he gets some gift certificates or some games go on clearance after Christmas. It comes with 3-4 games preloaded and that should be plenty to get by on for now anyway. I got this on the cheap too. I think I paid $29 for it thanks to online survey money.
Discovery Learning 3D sounds View Master + all 3 discovery sounds 3D reels, baby animals, Dinosaurs and ancient giants, and exploring Africa

My sister bought him the Discovery Learning sounds projector
Playdoh Fun Factory and Playdoh duffel (so we have scissors and a roller)

75 piece set of Bristle Blocks
Memory
and I know he's getting these things from Dh's parents and probably

Wow, can you say spoiled? I didn't actually spend as much as it looks like. I had about $30 in online gift certificates and $80 in Walmart gift certificates (from a work promotion). Plus, things like books and the memory game and puzzles I was going to give him anyway and I'm just using Christmas as an excuse to wrap things :) It helps that the only thing I paid full price for was the kitchen too. He's already collected a ton of the little people and weeble stuff so i'm running out of ideas for little kid toys! The clickstart and the tag will probably be a little over his head for the first 6 months or so. He uses a computer at school though so it will be good practice. I hope I got a good enough mix of pretend play and hands on play. He just some gross motor skill toys for his birthday a few weeks ago, balance bike, ESPN better batter, etc...
