I'd like some answers.....

So, here's the deal.  For a few months now, there has been a questions of whether or not Pres. Elect Barack Obama is a NATURAL BORN U.S. CITIZEN which is a requirement to hold the office of President of the United States. 

I posted another journal about a month ago which was a You Tube video and article about a lawyer named Philip Berg who had filed a lawsuit which would require Pres. Elect Obama to provide proof of his citizenship.  This case was dismissed on October 27th, but is now being appealed.  As I understand it, if 4 out of 9 of the Supreme Court Justices decide to hear the case, Pres. Elect Obama will be required to provide proof of this birth.

If you research this, you will get articles from BOTH SIDES which seem rather convincing. There are two options:

1. Either Barack Obama is indeed a natural born citizen, born in Hawaii in 1961 and is eligible for the office of President. 

OR

2.  Barack Obama is NOT a natural born citizen and is NOT eligible for the office of President.  There are a few different scenarios in which this could be the case.

Here is my thing.....many of you might say that I am only concerned about this because I didn't vote for Barack Obama.  It is true that I did not vote for him. But I can honestly say that if John McCain or any other candidate were in this exact same position, I would want to know answers! For me, this goes beyond a particular candidate.  For me, this is a question of whether the Constitution is being upheld.  If it is not, then why do I have reason to believe it will be upheld in other areas? 

Really...no matter who you voted for, you have nothing to lose.  I should hope that whether Republican or Democrat, whether you supported Obama or did not, that you are interested that the law and requirements of President are followed. 

All that I would like to see happen is that this matter is addressed IN COURT.  So far, our President Elect has failed to present a birth certificate that has been officially determined as being valid.  This can't "hurt" anyone.  If he indeed has proof of his natural born citizenship status as he claims, then all he has to do is produce it.  It should NOT be this hard!

In the article I posted above, there are some things that you can do as a citizen to try to get this accomplished.  Write to our Supreme Court Justices.  Or at the very least join this online petition to get the evidence of President Elect Obama's citizenship.  Online Petition It only takes a minute and all it is doing is asking for proof.  I would want this proof of ANY candidate, if there were questions.

I didn't vote for Obama either, but I do think that he is a citizen.  Here are some links that might give you an answer you are looking for!

I've looked at both Snopes and MANY other websites regarding the citizenship issue....that's why i said that there are convincing arguments on both sides.  But there are too many extremely smart people who are still questioning the documents he has provided online AND I don't understand why he is fighting so much to present a birth certificate in court.  I dunno.....there are many many sources that explain why he is legit....but I just don't know that I trust them.

Isn't there some kind of application where he has to provide his resume and birth certificate and blah blah like we do for getting a job? Surely there is some kind of process in place to make sure of these things. At least thats what I would THINK, that our founding fathers would have made sure to account for that; BUT...there are some interesting discussions going around and I think that if he knows about the rumors (and I'm sure he does) he would just go ahead and put them to rest by providing it (if he is). The fact that he doesn't is suspect to me. BUUUUUT, this country has deviated severely from how it was founded, so its sad to me that this isn't pursued, but I can't say that I'm surprised.
