A Serious Spit-up Situation

I'll tell you. I have never seen a baby that spits up like mine. ALL the time she spits up after anything she eats. I mean she is still getting what she needs the ped. says, but my carpet, and my washing machine are both not happy about it! She is 9 months old and eats a regular diet. i have her on Soy Formula and everything and still...spit up central! it is driving me crazy and i dont know how to stop it. I mean i guess its good that the ped. is not worried about it, but like i said, i spend most of my day with woolite carpet and running a load of laundry because if i dont wash it immediately it stinks so bad and mildews. (disgusting i know) . does anybody have the same problem or just any helpful hints?? I will listen to anything right about now!

Has her doctor checked her for reflux?

  All three of my boys had acid reflux.  It used to hurt my feelings when people would see my child spitting up, and they had nasty comments like, "Why don't you change his formula?" "Burping a baby can stop that kind of thing, you know!" "Is he sick?"  I was also hurt when people wouldn't let their own daughters hold the babies, because they were so repulsed.  But it didn't matter what formula I had, how much I burped the baby-they just spit up everywhere.  All the time.

  Their doctor prescribed two meds-I'm trying to remember them.  One was an adult medication for heartburn.....One started with (definitely) an R, and the other I think started with an A.  Why can't I remember?  This is going to be one of those things that will bother me the whole day.  I mean, I gave my twins this medicine every frickin day, for like a year, and I can't remember what the heck it was... AAAAUUUUGGHHH!  But anyway...it didn't take away the reflux, but it did help.  Instead of changing their clothes like seven times a day, it was more like three.  Not including bib changes.  Maybe it didn't start with an A.  i think it might have been Tagamet?  No.  I'll reply again later, if I can remember for sure what it was, but it's something a doc can help with.  No worries.

omg and you know what i hate? are the people who give you crap abou it. like persistantly. they talk down to you like you have no idea how to care for your baby. like i love my mother in law and all but i got the whole have you tried feeding her sitting up. i told her yes that she still did the same thing, so the she asked.. so you have put her in her high chair and tried feeding her formula that way? and i was like, yes. so then she persists to ask the same question 5 more times just reworded like im some sort of retard. and i get this from everybody!! it is just so demeaning!! I feel your pain McGregor! It is just so annoying when people put in their 2 cents without you asking them for it. you know. I just hate hearing it from complete strangers in the market or store who talk down to you like your some sort of retard because your baby spits up and theres nothing you can do about it, you know?! UGH!
