Thanksgiving it was just the four of us, no visitors and no visiting. My dh and I worked together on the Holiday dinner and we got through it without getting into a big fight, yeah. :-)
Actually we were able to work alongside each other pretty well, it ws nice. The kids have school work to do overt he long weekend (do teachers never give the kids any time off anymore? they ahve home work every weekend and even over school breaks, and not just for 30 minutes, but huge projects that take hours and hours of time!)
We had dinner, then cleared the table and took care of the leftovers, then went out for a nice long walk, all together. After returning home we played balderdash, which we had not played in a long while. It was fun. After that we finally felt like we might be able to eat desert, so we had that. Friday my dh had to go out to get parts to fix his car, my older son had to go to the theater (he is the sound man for this year's Christmal Carol, and they had their opening night that day). I was at home, doing laundry, cleaning, picking up, just normal stuff, but in a leisurely pace. We had a very early dinner to accommodate my son's schedule. The we went downtown for the Dickesn Festival and Fourth Friday, spent some time enjoying the decorations, the music, the exhibits, the people, and then watched a movie after our return back home.
On Saturday there was grocery shopping to do, my dh worked on his car, my younger son worked on his school work, played comopuetr ganes and started on a Christmas project that involved hid Dad's help with welding (he could not tell me what it is he's working on, since I am the intended recipient), the older one had theater duty again, and I spent part of the afternoon curled up on the couch reading - nice. A leisurely evening.
Today it is raining again outside, it's gray and cool, so I'll be happy to putter around indoors, get the advent decorations put up, and maybe I'll get to fnisgh my book. We also need to work on our family newsletter for the year, so there will be soem tome for that, once the boys are finished with their school work.
Overall a quiet, lazy, comfortable and enjoyable weekend.

A Boy with Autonomic Dysfunction - The Miller Family
Our Special Life
Oliver was born after having suffered a stroke while in his mother's womb. The resulting brain injury is called Dysautonomia (Autonomic Dysfunction). His doctors believe the stroke was the result of the miscarriage of his twin. Oliver is completely blind and his underdeveloped brain stem makes basic physical functions a challenge. In spite of all this, he is a happy, go-lucky, 12-year-old boy, and his mom wants people to meet the real Oliver, not just his medical hardships.
