If you live in West Michigan, you know about Studio 28. I live about 1.5 miles from this theater...it was only on eof the Southwest side of town and now it is gone.

I read online they are building a Wal-Mart where it is.

I'm a little sad....

On Sunday, November 23rd 2008, Studio 28 was retired from service.

The Loeks' family's roots in the theatre business began prior to Studio 28, but this is the theatre in which we took our biggest risks and launched innovations that have helped transform the industry.

Forty-three years is an extraordinarily long life for a theatre building. Studio 28 has seen seven other Grand Rapids area theatres come and go, not to mention a handful of drive-in theatres.
