My daughter has some adorable clothes, but even in spite of my best efforts, so many of her cute things have been "shelved" because of stains.

Normally, if she gets something on herself, I am quick to treat it before it sets.

I pride myself on being able to get out tough stains.

But, if she is on "someone else's watch," stains don't always get readily addressed--which is a recipe for fashion disaster!

I came to the end of my rope the other day when a stain "appeared" on the cutest little jumper-dress she owns.

Once tears formed in my eyes, I realized TWO things.

FIRST, I was PMS-ing something fierce!

SECOND, that something had to be done about this, because I was tired of her clothes being ruined.

I got the BRIGHT idea to either sew on iron-on little appliques anywhere where there were stains on her wardrobe, and today I put my plan in action.

For the jumper, I decided to sew the applique on.

We (she, actually!) picked out some very colorful butterfly appliques and within ten minutes of enacting my project, I was finished with the jumper!  (Good as NEW!)

Now, I still have a stack of clothes to get to, but am very excited to know that we will get more use out of some of these items before she grows out of them without her looking like a hobo-baby!

And it allows me to indulge my creative side with cute little appliques, color co-ordinated threads, sequins and other cute little additions.

I am sure I am not the first mommy to think of this, but I invite other mommies to join me in resurrecting any items that have been put away because of staining or even minor tearing!

Once I get through her items, I'm going to start on my own.

Stains, be DAMNED!   Applique-Mommy is here to save the day!!!
