We discovered this week that there is a mouse living in our kitchen! We set some bait food out but discoved tonight when I was going to pull out the pizza pan... there was a gray mouse with beady eyes starring back at me! Apparently he has set up shop in a cornning ware and under a clear glass pie plate. He has a cigarette in his "bed" also. Don't know where that came from since no one in the house smokes! Tried to catch him tonight but ran in DD playroom :(

Needless to say I moved the bait food from under the sink to the stove drawer and put out more on the floor. Not to worry, there is a closed door into the kitchen and a baby gate on the otherside so DD can't get into the kitchen. We've been cloroxing everything but still feel violated.

********** The mouse was pretty darn smart. We did use peanut butter and small bits of cheese that led into bigger chunks of cheese since he was able to get them without setting off the traps! Sometime last night, one of the baits did it's job. DH had to put sticky traps all around the bait with cheese in order for this to work. Now is the day of cleaning out the drawer under the stove. RIP Mr. Mouse!

Dec. 5, 2008 at 8:51 PM I had mice. I had to get a cat because they wouldn't fall for the bait. After she came, she caught a bunch and one did commit suicide in the trap that we had had for months!

My grandma swears by peanut butter and bacon grease instead of cheese for any mouse trap, and it really does work!
