Dear Friends,
Focus on the Family Action's research team has updated our Christmas-Friendly Shopping Guide and there is some good news and some bad news. First, the good news...
Our team has moved four high-profile national retailers from the "Christmas negligent" to the "Christmas friendly" list. This is great news. Go here to access our most up-to-date Christmas Friendly Shopping Guide. Now for the bad news...
Five remain on Focus Action's "Christmas offensive" retailers list for their apparent abandonment of any mention of "Christmas" in their promotions. Those five are: American Eagle, Banana Republic, Bloomingdales, Lane Bryant and Old Navy.
Help Focus Action send a message to these retailers next week!
With the Christmas shopping season in full swing, I want to send these five "Christmas offensive" retailers a strong message from tens of thousands of citizens like you. That's why, next week, Focus Action will be sending our "I Stand for Christmas" petitions to each of these five offenders.
As of today, we have collected just over 64,000 petitions. I would like to send at least 100,000 petitions to these retailers.
Please take a moment now to sign our "I Stand for Christmas" petition so you can be included in these deliveries. Then please forward this e-mail to your family and friends so they, too, can sign the petition.
Merry Tossmass campaign continues to grow
Also, you may be interested to learn that Focus Action's "Merry Tossmass" campaign continues to gain momentum. Stuart Shepard's provocative "Stoplight" videos from this year and last year are reaching tens of thousands of viewers. And the feedback we are receiving is encouraging. A woman from Sacramento, California, was so inspired by "Merry Tossmass" that she confronted a store for calling Christmas wreaths "holiday" wreaths. Before she left the store, the signage was changed to "Christmas wreaths" (read about it here).
The effort to silence Christians and censor our faith is so insidious that every action we take is vital. I hope you will sign our petition and also let the "Christmas offensive" retailers in your community know you object to their censoring of Christmas. Thank you once again for taking a stand with Focus Action.
Sincerely,

Tom Minnery
Senior Vice President, Government & Public Policy
P.S. If you encounter a "Christmas offensive" retailer in your community or have a story to share about how a retailer responded to your request that they honor Christmas, be sure to let our team know.
