Hyperthyroidism

I have been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism recently, which seems to explain a lot! it explains the anxiety attacks, the fatigue, the rapid heart rate and sometimes high blood pressure. I have had an ultrasound and they have found nodules, one 2 1/2 cm, in the left lobe of my thyroid gland. I am having an ultrasound guided needle biopsy on December 10th, 2008 and depending on the results, on January 9th 2009, they will either remove just the left lobe or the whole shebang.

Yes, I am scared. Who wouldn't be! Funny though, not as many as I thought would, lined up to volunteer to slit my throat ! lol ... I guess that's good :)

I am hoping and praying that when it's all said and done, I will have my life back ! I miss feeling my ADHD. I miss feeling like I could go for days as opposed to hours.  I know that there is a tiny chance of cancer, but hopefully not. So, if anyone has some spare prayers, I could use them :)  I will update when I find out the results.... might be a week after , but I will let all my friends know!

my mother has hyperthyroidism too. they caught it really late which caused her to lose alot of weight. she looked like a walking skeleton by the time they found out what was wrong. they push er on medicate. she slowly started to gain some of her weight back.
