Okay I made Chocalate Chip Cookies and they were hard!! They also didn't smoosh down. It was the recipe on the Hyee mini-chips and I think it had more flour in them. The recipe called for butter and though I normally don't use it. I used half/butter half shortening. Any suggestions on the perfect soft cookie would be great. I used pudding be four!!!!

Hmmm.... It may be because you used half shortening. I'd try it again with using just the butter the recipe requires.
Also, I under cook my cookies just a little bit so that they are soft and chewy. Every time I cook them for the time the recipe says, they end up getting hard and crunchy after they've cooled. I cook them for, oh, 1 or 2 minutes less than the time required.
