So we live in a house that shares the same driveway as our nextdoor neighbors.  We rent our house and so do our neighbors. They have different owners though. Anyway a couple weeks ago the owner of the next door neighbors house came over and asked us not to use the driveway anymore, just stating that he owns the driveway and he doesn't want us using it. (wouldn't tell em why he didnt want us using it) So he goes on to say that there is a driveway that goes around to the back of our house a couple houses down but i was like well our house is fenced in the back so if we went to park around back we wouldnt be able to walk through to our house. Anyway he said we could use it the driveway for a little bit longer but then we would need to stop. So we used it a little longer and then we just started to pull in to our house at the end of the yard in part of a dirt/grass area. So we did that for a few days and then the neighbors came over and told us no no no it's okay to use the driveway etc.. So we starting using it again. So anyway last week the OWNER of the neighbors house comes over again and tells us not use the driveway etc... and i said well the neighbors told us it was okay to use it and he replied well they don't own the house I do. So we stopped use the driveway again. So today the nieghbors come over again and tell me that its okay to use the driveway and that they talked to the owner etc.. and they have no problems with us using the driveway. Saying that well they pay the rent there and they want us to use the driveway too. So I don't know what to do. Should i start using the driveay again? It is hard to pull into our dirt/grass area because its not really a driveway and so sometimes you can peel out a bit. I just am not sure what to do and i don't want to cause problems. I have no idea of that owners name or where he lives, so I can't talk to him unless he randomly comes over here again.  We aren't going to be living here much longer. So what would you do?

I'd ask your landlord if the guy owns that driveway or if it's supposed to be shared first. If it's theirs I'd thank the renters for letting you use it but decline. It's better not to have their owner pissed for something silly.

I agree with sleepy mommy.

Ask your landlord to resolve the driveway issue.  If its not your landlord's driveway, than don't use it, unless the other landlord personally comes up to you & states you can.
