What kids won't do to have a snow day

Last night as I went to kiss my 7 year old goodnight, I noticed his shirt was on backwards with the tag just below his chin. When I pointed this out to him so he knew to turn it right-side out, he told me that he was purposely wearing his pj's inside out and backwards. He also had flushed an ice cube down the toilet and had put a spoon under his pillow as had his sisters so that they wouldn't have school in the morning. We never had rituals like this when I was a kid so I don't understand the logic behind all of it, I just know that when they think they might get a snow day, they do these weird things. Unfortunately, they had to be awoken and taken to the bus stop to catch a ride to school. Maybe tonight will be the night, although they did not do their ritual. I just wanted to share what a kick I get out of my kids. There is never a dull moment!

I've never heard of such a thing. That's just WEIRD!

The whole school does stuff like this. Other kids in the district have done other things. I hear some of the teachers tell the kids stuff to do. I think it just makes the little ones feel like they may be in control of the weather.
