Have you heard of this man? I wasn't familiar with this man other than I purchased his book from a book club to get it for free. That was last year. It wasn't until this month that I remembered I had his book and started reading it last Friday, Dec.6, 2008.  So, now let me tell you what motivated me to open his book...

I moved from Fulton, Missouri at the beginning of May, 2008 to Cove, Arkansas. I am a very health oriented person, Massage Therapist, Horticulturalist, then finishing up my course in Holistic Nutrition through CCNH.edu, working out everyday and getting into kickboxing. I weighted at that time 140 lbs and was in a size 4 - 6, depending on the clothing.

My whole routine has changed and I noticed over the months my clothes aren't fitting as well. I'm not happy at all that I was gaining the weight. I didn't even like to be at 140 1bs for my 5' 6" height. I'm just not comfortable their. As the months rolled on and my post-pregnancy bellyfat was starting to come up over my pants, my butt and hips showing signs of growth, love handles appearing...the only thing I liked about a little weight was that my breasts are bigger!

So, I began running and trying to get back into some sort of exercise routine again. I live on 20 acres... gas wise...not cost effective to get to a gym because of the high gas prices we had. I gave up my desire for icecream and chocolate as a once in a while treat and have now laid off of all processed foods, especially breads and pastas. I know there is whole multi-grain breads and pasta but they are still addicting to me. But even with this...my weight has been going up.

Ok, I have a tendency to get very painful headaches that put me in bed all day, for me they happen because of stress or I over work my neck and shoulders. My cervical vertebra move out of position sometimes and then...I'm gone! I was also drinking alot of coffee as well, causing me headaches. So, I'm starting to feel lousy about my appearance again.... my clothes don't fit. I had to purchase size 11 pants and I'm having alot of headaches.

This is when I changed what I was doing and started losing weight!

On September 29th, I quit drinking coffee and started drinking tea instead. Went through a week of major headaches from the caffeine withdrawal, but the longer I toughed it out, the better I felt. Now coffee and tea both have caffeine but coffee has like 150 grams a cup where a cup of green tea has 15 grams. So, I figure 15 grams per cup is much better than 150 grams per cup especially considering 300 grams of caffeine is considered too much...an overdose. That's why you get the jitters and other issues!!

Now it's December, 2008 and I have been drinking green tea, sometimes like it is and sometimes with an herbal tea bag for flavor and reusing the bags at least three times each, everyday. While I have been drinking tea everyday, through out the day since September 9th,  I notice I feel as if I am losing weight. I'm seeing it and I'm feeling it...plus I'm feeling great.

I'm very interested in learning how to make my own soaps and skincare products, so one day this month I start researching the ingredients typically used in natural skincare products. While educating myself on the benefits of Green Tea and White Tea, I became inspired check to out this book I purchased last year to see what it had to say and I was totally blown away by what I read:

                HERE'S A SUMMARY OF WHAT I LEARNED!

Antioxidants in tea known as Flavonoids and many other natural

ingredients found in Tea are scientifically documented to bring about

positive benefits for your health when drinking at least a cup a day.

A True tea comes from the leaves of the plant called, Camellia sinensis,

where White Tea, Green Tea, Oloong Tea and Black Tea all come from.

The three main natural ingredients most beneficial to our body's that are found in the teas from this plant are:

•·         Caffeine a stimulant, less than you will find in tea.

•·         L-theanine an amino acid that work's to counter the harmful effects of caffeine. Influences the dopamine and serotonin levels in your brain, telling your body, "I'm Not Hungry!"

•·         Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) a miracle antioxidant that stimulates your body's metabolism so that your burning fat while your relaxing with your cup of tea!

Used as a beverage, for cooking and in skincare products, these natural

ingredients when drank everyday:

•·         help you lose weight

•·         reduce cravings for sweets

•·         suppress the appetite

•·         increase your insulin effectiveness

•·         lower cholesterol

•·         Stimulate thermogenesis...that is your body's ability to burn fat even while you're sitting!

•·         Tea naturally contains fluoride

•·         boosts your immune system

•·         fights inflammation

•·         lowers blood pressure

•·         Scientific evidence is overwhelming that tea helps prevent cancer.

•·         Stimulates alpha brain waves and promotes mental clarity.

•·         Helps to protect against liver and brain damage caused by alcohol when tea is consumed before and after alcohol intake.

His book is entitled: The Ultimate Tea Diet by Mark "Dr. Tea" Ukra. The pic is a link to his site where you can learn more about him. He does a television show as well where you can learn how to use tea in meal preparation.

I was thrilled to have learned that because I made a choice to switch from coffee to green tea, I had unknowningly consumed a natural product that was helping to curve my appetite and lose the fat I was seeing gradually taking over my figure. Saturday, December 13, 2008 I got back into some of my clothing I was wearing before I moved to Arkansas...and I am so thrilled to know I am losing the weight just because i've been drinking the tea!

So, try it ladies... the health food stores carry all the teas from the Camellia sinensis plant. In his book, Dr. Tea explains the differences between the four types of tea. Really...this is worth laying of off the coffee and switching!
