So, here is why I've disappeared- After having my beautiful baby boy Darien by c-section, I thought it would be fun to almost die. A week ater I was sent home, I layed on my couch, thinking I was dying from a horrible pain in my stomach, but I refused to call the Dr (I knew I was gonna be sent to the hospital, cause it was a sunday, and I REALLY HATE HOSPITALS). I know, I'm stupid and stubborn. Well, my husband practically held the phone to my head and made me call the Dr, who (big shock) sent me to the ER. Thankfully, they gave me something for the horrible screaming pain I was in (literally, screaming, I felt bad for the people in the rooms around me), which made me pass out. So, after all the tests and scans and such, My Ob/Gyn (who came to the ER at 3 in the morning to take care of me. She's the best Dr ever) tells me I have this 20 cm abcess right behind my incision, and it is horribly infected, and they hafta drain it, and I'll probably hafta have surgury, and depending on how bad the infection is, there is a possibilty I might hafta have a hysterectomy. Oh, and it was a good thing they caught it when they did, cause if it had burst, like it was in extreame danger of doing, I would have been poisoned by the amount of infected waste inside it, and died. Yeah, so that was a great convo to have while in horrific pain at 3 am, lemme tell you. Long story short, I got put on approxamatly 400 different antibiotics (really, like 5), and cause they didn't want to distroy my veins cause the meds they were giving me were so strong, I had to get this special IV put in the underside of my arm that traveled inside near my heart, they put the drain in (really REALLY GROSS, I still gag thinkin about it), and 4 days later they tell me I hafta have surgury so they can make sure they got all the infection out and totally clean out the abcess. So I do that, and spend two more days there, and get to leave with a huge gaping hole in my stomach (did I mention they didn't sew me up cause they wanted it to "close naturally"). My husband (who is officially the most wonderful man in the world) has to change my dressing every day (nothing says I love you like gauze and rubber gloves), and he is doing an amazing job. I love him so much. And he saved my life. If he hadn't made me call the Dr, I really could have died that night. Yay for him!

P.S. we ended up having our son circumcised for my husbands family cultural reasons. But, in his family they wait till the boy is like 13, and he didn't want to make his son go through that like he did. No problems came from it, and I don't think it really affected my son. they numbed his penis, and he never cried when they did it, or anytime we took care of it. so, all is well
