And the roads are becoming very slick. I have Anna for the weekend so we decided to make a family sledding party and head to the hills for a day of cold freezing fun. It was just that. The fire departments in our area are incredably busy right now. So far just our town alone has had 8 calls in just a couple of hours. The weather man says it could be as low as the low teens tonight. For some of you, that may not mean much. For others who have lived in NW Oregon thats down right freeze your boobs off. lol. Casey just left for yet another call, another crash. As we were coming down the mountain on our way home we came across a van with a couple people inside slid off the road. I held up traffic while Casey pulled them out. The womans father wanted to pay us but its our job and we refused to accept payment for a good deed. Although it does have me wonder, is the old saying true? Does a good deed never go unpunished? The highway patrol has shut down Highway 18, which is one of the most deadly in our state. It also leads to the coast so there are going to be a lot of unhappy people. Oh well, they should have stayed home. I think its time for some hot chocolate and Charlie Brown Christmas. Happy Holidays to all of you. I hope for those who are being blasted by Old Man Winter, that you stay warm, well fed and have many hobbies to keep you busy. I also took some pictures so as soon as I get them loaded I'll post some.
