We just got back from Atlantic City, where my daughter competed in this season's first national competition (she is a cheerleader). We took second place, which was sort of expected because of how this was run, but was also disappointing, as they really put on a great performance.
We are all of us completely exhausted. The running around for three days in and out of the arena, back and forth to the hotel, shopping, etc., was insane. Last night I went with a bunch of friends to the Borgata to gamble a little (some did a lot!) and I had almost no sleep.
All-Star Cheerleading is a sport growing at an amazing pace. Once you get in to see what these kids do you will be amazed. They tumble, dance, and cheer in large groups, doing acrobatic stunts. It's unbelievable to watch.
My daughter brought her guitar with her; she is even more passionate about music than she is about cheer.
I hope your kids all find ways to express themselves, nothing will give them (and you!) more pleasure.
