Max's Good Comeback

I don't know about your house but at our house there is much drama in the morning about eating breakfast and getting ready for school - esp now that Christmas is coming and the start of vacation is in site -...

So the other day I had told Max - "Please change now>" which of course, he ignored.  I repeated about 3 more times then finally turned off the tv, which caused him to go into hysterics.  He said to me, "I don't like you Mommy!" "Fine," I said, "I could drop you off at Goodwill then and see if someone else wants you!"  I don't know where that came from but obviously I was getting close to the end of my rope.  This, of course, caused my 5 yr old to wail even louder and he cried back, obviously traumatized, "But YOU'RE the BEST MOMMY I HAVE EVER KNOWN!"  WAAA!

So of course, then I felt guilty for getting mad at him for not listening because he obviously thought I was serious, etc and I apologized, he did too and we hugged and kissed and got him changed.  It was all funny and pathetic (that I had to resort to that to get him changed) but at the same time I had to write it in my journal so I can remind myself of this 10 yrs from now when I threaten to do it again, ha. 

So, anyone else say anything ridiculous you regret and got back a good answer from their kid recently?

Oh Lord, don't get me started on this one. God Bless the child with innocence. LOL Keith usually has a comeback " Don't be sad or mad at me Mom". " I will be good." Why are boys so stubborn ?

Keith has been sick for over a month now. We think it's bad allergies. We're trying to get to the root of the problem. Well, he stayed home from pre-school all last week. We had a traumatized morning trying to get ready for school. Tears in his eyes enough to melt a Mother's heart. Well, all and all we got him on the bus. Dad had that task of putting him on the bus. Now we just got a call from school that they are being released from school at 1 p.m. due to a winter storm coming. Yikes ! Oh boy !!! 

We have rain and snow coming all week. I guess Winter Break is starting early. Just when I thought I would get 4 hours to regain my sanity. Oh well, it was short lived. I need a vacation. Does anyone have a jet to take me to Hawaii for a day ?
