Oh, my body hurts! I must have forgotten that I was pregnant when I picked up a closing Dish shift at work last night. The dish machine was broken, so I had to manually push the heavy racks through the machine. It wasn't hard at first and nothing really heavy (I just got help with the heavy stuff from willing coworkers). But...EVERYTHING got so heavy towards the end and I am absolutely in pain every where!!! I was fine for the first 3 hours, but as the night went on I started to get worried that I was hurting my baby. I got home last night and worried for most of the night that I would start cramping and miscarry at 18 weeks. But...here I am this morning, my body still sore and baby boy is still intact. Thank goodness! I can't believe that I did that! I guess I didn't think it would be that hard because I was such in shape before I got pregnant. I normally work 3-4 serving shifts and flipped out this week (so close to christmas) that I was only scheduled 1 shift. So, yesterday, I started my serving shift at 10:30AM and ended at 5PM. I asked every server who came in for dinner if I could work for them, but no one would let go of their shift. So...someone offered me a dish shift and I jumped on it. So stupid! I didn't even really need the money! I just wanted more to help out with Christmas. I think it was ego that I could prove that I could do it. Well...I could have...if I wasn't pregnant! I did well keeping up and got help at the end around 11PM. I clocked out at 12AM! 7 hours of dish! Gosh, I'm an idiot!
My question, could I have really put my baby in danger by doing this? If so, could my baby still be in danger and I not know about it yet??! On Saturday I was an idiot too and over-did it. I hung 152 Avon catalogs on doors through out my neighborhood. It took me 3 hours of walking and on the last 50 I was starting to feel those stairs to get up on people's porches. I don't think that was as terrible as the heavy racks and pushing things through the dish tank and picking things up off of the floor and moving semi-heavy drink racks from the dish tank, still dripping with water. Gosh! I could have slipped and fallen! That would have been terrible! What was I thinking!
Sorry...I needed the vent!

I know its a month late to give advice but I just wanted to let you know its okay! I used to work in a nursing home. You'd think it would be EASY but it was the hardest, most physical job I've ever had. You were on your feet, constantly moving for 7-9 hours, lifting, pushing, pulling, running, sometimes getting attacked, etc. My friend was preggo and worked there until she was 7 months with no problems. Except being sore.
(hugs) Don't worry! And try to take it easy!
