Today's CM theme is "What is the strangest thing you ever found on the street."
My sister and I journeyed to Manhattan, NY in April. It was so grand. The temperature on our first day was a mid 60. I wore flip flops, and my toes were so thrilled! We walked miles around the city, in and out of shops, up and down the sidewalks, weaving in and out of the streets. I was actually impressed at how clean such a busy city street could be!
After a day of checking out every tourist shop on Times Square, hoofing it up stairs, riding many escalators and tromping around Grand Central Station, we headed back to our Hotel. Ahhh, the comfort of our temporary home! After setting all of my bags down, the comfort of kicking back on the bed was a delight!
My feet were killing me! Wearing my flip flops was, clearly, not the best idea I've ever had. And although the streets of NYC were very clean, I realized that they were only clean of litter. The streets of NYC are soot coated with pollution from they hustle and bustle of what is "The City That Never Sleeps."
You're probably wondering, "So, what was the strangest thing you found on the streets in NYC?" Well, to answer that: The strangest thing I found on the streets in NYC, was the streets of NYC. I found the entirety of the NYC streets on the bottom of my feet. Black, dirty, disgusting. The NYC streets were building up to give me a souvenir that I had no intention of returning home with. A steamy, hot shower never felt so good!
