I told him quitters never win.. u win some u lose some.. i think losing discouraged him.. poor thing.. he cried at the match cuz he was pissed not cuz he got hurt.. i guess he needs to practice more.. i know he can do it.. i hope he dont quit, he has alot of support from us.. so lets see what happens.. what a good kid..

I'm a wrestling mom of four years. My son graduated two years ago. He was a letterman all four years, and a state qualifier. Wrestling is by far one of the THE toughest sports out there. Not everyone can do it. I think your son should definitely stick with it! Getting better requires a lot of time, effort, and practice practice practice. A good way to get ahead is to wrestle in some of the off-season tourneys. Way to go, Mom, for encouraging you son to stick with it! Most parents just don't get it... it IS a rigorous, tough sport, and they're afraid for their kids. I think it's AWESOME that you're out there supporting him. I can't tell you how many parents just... didn't. Most of the kids whose parents weren't involved in some capacity wound up quitting wrestling. It was sad :(

Tell your boy that EVERY wrestler (unless you're Gable) has their losses. But losing a match is not LOSING. It teaches you what you need to work on. He can take from this and build from it, and be better next time he steps out on that mat. I think it's awesome that he's a wrestler. Not many people can do it!! He should totally stick with it!
