OK, just a quick gripe here and I figure posting about my bad experience will save someone else some aggravation and make me feel a little better.
On December 10 I placed an order for a girl's rocking chair from an online site called www.kiddietoys.com as they had the lowest price and free shipping. I figured that was plenty of time for the order to be processed and shipped before Christmas for my little girl.
After a few days I started checking my order on their site since I hadn't received any shipping e-mails. The status kept saying "processing order." Well, yesterday, a full week after I ordered the chair I received an e-mail informing me that the chair wasn't in stock and that they wouldn't expect it to be back until mid-January. They refunded my money to my credit card. That's all well and good but why couldn't they have informed me that the item was out of stock well before a week went by?I sent them an e-mail asking that very question and did not receive a response. I consider this to be very poor customer service and will never order from them again.
I spent a couple of hours yesterday afternoon desperately searching the Internet trying to find this chair and it was out of stock just about everywhere. I finally found one store online that had it and placed my order after I spoke with a human being on the phone who could confirm that yes, indeed, it was in stock. They can't guarantee that it will be here before Christmas but it will be here within a couple of days after.
Anyway, I would highly recommend that people keep clear of the folks at kiddie toys and, if something seems to be in high demand, get a real live person on the phone to confirm that it's in stock. That should prevent any disappointment and scrambling at the last minute like I had to go through.
Have a very happy holidays everyone!
