Kira will be 3.5 in January, and she's not in preschool, though I do try to teach her things from time to time..  I don't work with her everyday, but she generally picks things up pretty fast and has a good memory..  Plus, she IS only 3 so I don't want to push her too much, she deserves to be a little kid..

I'm starting to get worried though..  she's "known" her alphabet for about a year now.. I say "known" cuz if she sees the letters, she knows what they are (no matter what order they're in) but she won't sing or say her ABC's..  I figured she was just being stubborn..  She won't sing Twinkle Little Star either..  Maybe she's not a singer (though Hannah Montana is her favorite, and she's always singing lalalalala, nanana in her microphone..) After she learned her letters last year, we tried to move on to counting, and it did NOT happen..  she would go 1...2..3..4..7..8...5..6..  or mix them up like that..  it got to the point where she would just start crying, and I wanted to, so we gave it up..

At her 3 yr check up in July, I asked the dr, and he said she could either be just stubborn, or she could have some sort of sequential disorder, and give it another 6 months, and then worry (based on her other development, shes doing great, so she should be able to pick this stuff up if she wants)

Well, she'll be 3.5 in about 2 weeks, and its the same old thing.  We worked on counting Ryleighs stacker cups for like 2 hrs last night..  finally towards the end, she counted 1-10 like 3 times through without messing up..  We jumped up & down, rejoiced, did a happy dance, and went to bed.  Got up today, and tried to repeat it..  back to the mixed up crying frustrating mess.  I want to scream, and *bad mommy* a couple times I have. :( She normally has such a good memory, so when I say 1..2..3 ...20 times in a row, and she says 1..4..7..  or something equally wrong..  I don't know what to do. I don't think she's doing it on purpose..  we quit in tears, so...  what now??? Any suggestions welcome.

wow hun. i'm so sorry! i think that it's part of just being 3. bianca still does that! so, just take baby bites throughout the day. maybe do 1-5 you know, here and there. and when she can do that frequently through the day, maybe add 6,7,8. And so on. Bianca was stuck on her ABCs, and she has finally (with lots and lots and LOTS of singing:) has gotten them. now we are working on her 1-20. She has 1-10 down, and is doing so good with 10-20. Just be patient. She is fine. She will get it:) Good luck
