The Winter Solstice is my favorite holiday on the Wheel of the Year calendar. Until two years ago I did not even know what that was but I always loved the solstice. It is a deep reflection time for me, and each year I take stock of where I am spiritually. This year I am not certain where I am, with a 3 year old son it has been really difficult to work on my spiritual self. What I am doing instead is reflecting on where I came from, what I believe now, and where I can take certain things to the next level in 2009. I invite you to link to this post, and share your spiritual realities for the next year.

First, I feel a big intuitive push to share this spiritual side of myself publicly. Normally I feel very strongly that a person's spirituality is a very personal and private thing. And I certainly have no purpose in life to push my beliefs on anyone; I will leave that to the Evangelists. But as I share my writings and my life in a public forum, and people from all walks of life and belief systems come to this page I feel it is important to share some things. I get the "intuitive" hit that some people come here and immediately dismiss or even worse are afraid of what I am and what I believe. It is quite obvious that organized religion does not play an important part of my life and I think that scares some people. So I want to set some things straight and as I do I hope people gain a new awareness and openness to things that are different than what they are used to.
