Our own version of "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles"!

Yeah, poor Jennifer is snowed in to Spokane!  They shut down the Gonzaga campus on Wednesday, and luckily Jenn had taken all her finals by then!  Then the airport shut down on THursday when she was supposed to fly home!  Arrived, checked luggage, went through security, only to THEN find out all Southwest flights were cancelled!  UGH!  So picked up luggage, and went back to the campus.  Luckily the school acknowledged this misfortune all the students were having and said they'd keep the dorms open through Sunday. (Hopefully that would include the heat and food service as well....).  So, at this point the earliest flight she can get out on is Sunday afternoon.... Mike (fiance) is in on this as well, and his mom checked the weather and freaked out because a new storm is coming in on Sunday, so they might not get out then!  So she booked them on a flight out  of Seattle tomorrow (Saturday) in the evening, which means they have to drive Mike's car to Seattle, a five hour drive which not only includes getting out of snowed in Spokane area, but going over the Cascade Mountains (currently full of snow....)  We're not comfy with this, so "Mr. Travel Agent in Hiding" goes to work. Yes, my beloved hubby gets them the LAST 2 tickets on a train bound for Portland, Oregon leaving Spokane at 2:30 AM (in about 2 hours) and arriving in Portland at about 10:30 am.  They then are booked on a flight Saturday afternoon out of Portland at 3:30 to San Jose !  So only 2 days delayed!  Not bad! At last check, all flights now out of Spokane are booked through Monday! 
So in honor of their arrival, we will be watching "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles"!  Hysterical movie that suddently has even more meaning!  Ha ha ha!  We're just SO glad she's traveling with Mike!  We'll let you know when she FINALLY gets home!  We may be returning some of her gifts to help pay for the ticket exchanges and train fare!  Ha ha ha!  (just kidding!)

Update as of 10:00 am Saturday... train was delayed!  They boarded at 5:45 this morning!   So they're still in route to Portland.... due to get in around 1:30.  Still good for that 3:30 flight but wait.... there's snow forcasted in Portland!  Go figure!  Ha ha ha!  The fun never stops!  This will be a great adventure for them to share and remember!

Lucky she made it out of Portland---the train is stopped here for Sunday.
