broken ornament

I think there's something in the water or I have some kind of neurological disorder or something because in the last 2 days I have broken 2 things that were really important to me.

Yesterday I finally got around to putting the ornaments on the tree.  Brenna was so excited to put the ornament she made up but it had no hook on it.  I bought nice ribbons last year to use.  Her ormanent is one of those glass ones you can get at craft stores with glitter in it and her name written in Sharpie on the outside.

So I get the ribbon tied on the top and then it just slips through my hands.  I had both hands on it and then it was gone.  I have no clue what happened.  It just smashed on the floor and I broke out into tears.  Brenna was devestated.  My husband promised her we would go to Michaels and get some supplies to make another.

Then today I was in the kitchen watering the plants and was examinging Meagan's Christmas tree.  In Girl Scouts they got those little pots with seeds.  We did flowers and veggies/fruits in the spring and all the kids wanted me to get the Christmas tree ones (they were in the dollar section at Target) but I killed or dropped all but 1 of the spring ones, lol.  So, anyway, Meagan did the Christmas tree at scouts and it is doing good.  Two little trees sprouted and are growing every day.  So I'm looking at it and go to put it back on the sill and, BAM, it just slips from my fingers.  Just like that.  The same as the ornament.  It misses the recycling bin and crashes to the ground where it cracks in two and spills dirt and plants everywhere.

I was able to save the plants and replant them in some dirt I scooped off the floor and some that was left over in the other pots from our spring planting.  I think they are going to be okay but we lost the pretty green pot it was in.

And I'm kind of freaked that the same thing happened twice in two days.

On top of that Meagan broke something.  I went into the basement this morning and found a plain clear ornament that I bought years ago and never decorated.  I knew I had glitter somewhere, too, and figured Brenna would be able to redo her ornament today.  So Meagan comes down and picks it up.  I told her to put it down before she breaks it.  Two seconds later I hear CRASH as it rolls off the table and onto the floor.  Grrr.  I had it sitting in a little tin on the table so it wouldn't get broken.

I was ticked.  Nora also broke an ornament.  I gave her all the non-breakable ones to put on first but as I was pulling out all the other less fragile ones and putting them in a pile she picked up an old angel one and then dropped it while trying to hang it on the tree.  One of the arms broke off and went flying (we haven't found it yet).  Normally I don't put the angels on the tree because we aren't religious but I needed extra ornaments to fill holes so they all went up (there were 4 or 5 in the set).

well geez,.its sounds like you guys have the same things going on huh? i hope breanna gets  her ornatment! and i hope you guys have a great christmas!!!
