Choas at Christmas

Well, we were suppose to go to New Jersey for Christmas this year but the Fates had other plans.  Last Monday, the water heater broke down and we were forced to face the reality of spending the money we had set aside for our trip on a new one (they are really expensive) or do a patch job and hope it lasts for another couple of months... actually there wasn't a choice there, we had to spend our trip money.  I was very upset about it, I had been trying very hard to give my son a memoral first Christmas and Yule and failed.  I couldn't get Adam to get into the spirit of the holidays and had to do everything myself from decorating to planing and so on.  I just wanted to pack Christmas up and forget everything, but Adam stopped me.  I took Chris to see Santa and he loved Santa, in fact, he couldn't stop looking at him and fussed when he had to leave.  We attended a Yule festival and had a ball with some great people.  To top it all, Adam got a small Christmas bonus and a Ham and so I was able to get Christ an extra present and Adam something for his birthday (it's on the 27th) and stuffed my guy's stocking to almost bursting. 

I got my holiday spirit back somewhat.  And as for going to New Jersey... maybe it's a good thing we couldn't go due to the horrible snow and ice storms going on up there.  It's the Gods way of keeping my family safe I guess... We'll try again next year.
