Me and My kids have never really had it easy I've had to work and sometimes fight for what we have, not to mention beg, borrow and steal. Sometimes we could not celebrate the traditional Christmas, like Santa coming with a bunch of presents, especially last year, this year only my 5 year old is getting Christmas, I know my 14 and 17 year old are upset but I always try to give to them through out the year. They had never not had a Christmas when they were little and I didn't feel it was right for My 5 year old to go with out, especially when she came home crying about Santa Claus not visiting her or bringing her presents like all the kids at school. So I decided that she would have a Christmas.
But my older Children and I have always done every year for the past 24 years is drive around the neighborhoods and see all the Christmas lights that people, neighbors and Friends have put up for us to enjoy, it's my favorite thing to do and my older children still remember doing it. For us it's not Christmas unless we have seen the lights. I have done it since I was a child and passed it on to my children whom look forward to it every year and no matter how bad it got financially, I always found away to go out and look at the lights even if I had to depend on someone else driving or my feet to get there, we have never missed a year since I became a mom in 1984.
