Christmas Eve

It is 1:30 pm and I sit here at work on Christmas Eve.  I have been working since 1999 and this is the first Christmas Eve I have had to work.  We get the day after Christmas off to give us a four day week, but I just want to be home with my family right now.  It has been so hard to concentrate at work.  The phones haven't rung, no email, no mail.  So boring.  I have been working on my work website.  (http://www.dearbornswcd.org/Urban.html if your interested). 

The only consultation I have is I get off work in 30 minutes because Katie's daycare closes early today so I have to go get her.  Then home to get ready and get presents then over to my in-laws.  I am so excited.  Even more so for tomorrow morning when Katie sees her new toddler bed (Disney princess) that she has been asking for since before Thanksgiving.  She thinks she is too big to be sleeping in a crib.  And she's a princess therefore deserves a princess bed. 

I'm excited about doing traditions with her.  I'm excited about her learning about why Christmas is celebrated, the birth of Christ.  But most of all, I am excited because for the first time in I don't know how long, Gary is going to milk early so he can be home early to open presents and then I'm going to cook breakfast for us. 

Breakfast, as a family. I can't wait!

It stinks to work on Christmas Eve... I had to to :(   At least you were together as a family in the morning to open presents and share breakfast together :)  I hope everything went well!
