On December 24 2008 Maliyte turned 1.

This past year has been full of hapiness and joy, but not  without it's trials. Being a first time mom was tiring the first few weeks as we adjusted from going from a couple to a family. I have truly been blessed from the moment, just seconds after his birth, I held his tiny fragile body against my own to now where if Itry to cuddle he just runs off. From that first moment I know as scared as I was we were going to do just fine and we have.

He is a todder now as much as I dislike those  words that insist my baby is growing up. He now depends on me in a new way not a much for cuddles and being stationary but for allowing a little independence, and exploration. He no longer needs me for feeding time other then fixing it and pouring him some water. And he no longer wants to sit still in my lap and play he would rather toss a ball or chase a cat LOL

But even as he loses some of his baby qualities he is gaining so much more. Now that he is one he can have more foods and he is enjoying it very much. So far we have been lucky with no allergies(Knock on wood)He has become a little explorer and loves to tinker around and see how things work. He also loves trying to figure out how the baby gate works LOL But most importanly this last year has been building and shaping this toddler of mine. He is a little person who wants and demands certain freedoms, but bring someone near who he aint too fond of and he becomes my little baby again who wants to feel safe and be held.

All in all this year has been a great on and full of many surprises and joys. I myself have done alot of growing too. I have become a more mature adult, I was a mom, I learned some of the ropes of motherhood(I'm sure there are many more ahead), I became a wife,  and I have done some personal growing as well. I have throughly enjoyed this year, and I can't wait for the next.
