Christmas has come and gone,

Our cat Spot hurries across the room and lauches attack on an innocent toy.The gift wrap and ribbons spring to life and then begin to settle.Spot curls into a box and sighs contentedly.

A long awaited gift is cradled by our son....Cube World. Upon opening this gift he literaly shuddered with  excitement and anticipation.

He giggles as it bleeps and chimes, the stick men walk from cube to cube, communicating and interacting, like mimes, using ONLY animations...no words. He holds his precicious Cubes. In this world communicating is entertaining, rewarding and ...effortless.

I wonder if this is part of the draw towards this toy, human styled interactions...that are ALL visual, though sometimes, absurd.

Three men climb out of a trumpet, he laughs again, "they are SILLY!" Our son comments.

On this Christmas day Cube World accompanies us to our family get togethers.

"I just do not get it." family members' comment. "What is the draw to this toy? Why does he like them so much?It is just stick people right?"

Perception, Could it really be that simple? Just a different piont of view?

The cubes bleep and now light up...one sick man drives a car. Our son smiles as he joins them in his imagination.....who says someone with autism is not capable of "imagining?"

In this world...we are all like him.

Hey, I think it sounds like a neat toy =)  You know, I admittedly don't know a lot about autism, but it would seem to me that they would have EXCELLENT imaginations.  They just wouldn't be as capable of expressing it.

We love cube world.  I guess it amazes all of us that these stick figures in the box or on the string can appear to have this whole world going on and show their emotions and state of mind through silly actions.  It is really genius and probablly based on some really advanced scientific theory or something.
