Hi Darlene,
Don't think that President
Bush's attacks against women's health are over. The current administration is
proposing to divert Title X government funds to fake health clinics that
self-identify as informative "crisis pregnancy centers," or CPCs. Take action to stop this
plan! >>
These centers are not
licensed medical providers. They often have untrained volunteers whose only
qualification is a strong commitment to anti-choice beliefs. They are
more interested in pushing their own anti-choice agenda than informing women of
all the options they have.
CPCs portray themselves as
legitimate clinics by offering free pregnancy tests, sonograms and "options
counseling." But many of these CPCs have been sued for using deceptive tactics.
They have misled
women by dramatizing the negative effects of abortion and obscuring the
benefits of condoms and other forms of birth control. They often target young or
low-income women by offering free pregnancy tests and locating themselves in
close proximity to colleges and universities.
Even worse, the money the
Bush administration wants to send to these fake clinics is from Title X -
federal money that is supposed to be reserved for comprehensive,
unbiased family planning clinics.
Health and Human Services
Secretary Mike Leavitt is about to propose increased funding to CPCs. Tell Leavitt that you do not
want to increase federal funding to fake pregnancy counseling centers >>

Thank God for Crisis Pregnancy Centers. If Planned Parenthood can get federal funding, CPC's had dang well better get it too.
