Hey Ladies! My family could really really use some prayers right now! I'll explain everything the best I can.
On Friday, December 26 around 830am my nephew Chad was riding his motorcycle to work. He was on a back road and went over a very old bridge, as soon as he got on the bridge, the front of the bike started jumping and he lost control. He was thrown off the off the bike and flew threw the air and hit a tree and then the bike hit him and he landed in a ravine below. From the road you couldn't see him or the bike and no one was around when he wrecked. He tried calling 911 from his cell phone, but got a recording saying that it wasn't a working number! He tried calling his mom and his dad but they were still sleeping and didn't hear their phones ringing. Finally 11 minutes after he tried 911 he got a hold of his best friend Benj. Benj quickly told his parents what happened and they called 911 from their home while Benj went to Chad. Benj's parents told the 911 operator everythign she knew about the wreck... which was the road name, that it happened at the bridge, his name, what type of vehicle, EVERYTHING! The 911 operator told them that they didn't have enough information to send emergency vehicles. BULLSHIT!
Anyways, Benj was only about 4 miles from the wreck and went to find Chad. He passed him the first tiem because he couldn't see him. Chad called him and told him to turn around and come back. So Benj turned around parked in the middle of the raod and jumped out and screamed for Chad until he finally spotted Chad in the ravine waving his hand. As Benj took off running down the hill to Chad another car pulled up and saw Benj running so stopped to see what was going on, luckily this man knew a first responder up the road! That was the only way they were able to get medical attention on the scene. Benj had also tried 911 from his cell phone and got the same recording.
My nephew is now in ICU in Thomasville, Ga. He broke his left collar bone, and his left femer (the thigh bone) and shattered his L2 lumbar, and fractured another vertebrae. He had to had a rod put in his leg, and had back surgery to remove the broken pices of the L2 lumbar. He know has rod and screws in his back. The nerves were so tangled that they couldn't do anything with them and they are onyl giving him a 10% chance of walking again. Oh he's having another surgery tomorrow to wire his collar bone back together. Thank God for helmets, NO head injuries!
He's only 19 years old. He's a good kid who has always stayed out of trouble. No, he doesn't play on his motorcycle nor speed on it because he's always been alil bit scared of it. He has a baby due on Febuary 11th. They will eventually transfer him to the Sheppard's Center in Atlanta, Ga. His doctors say him going there is the only chance of him recovering. I've heard pretty good things about it. They say it'll take at least 6 months, if he even walks again. He's bound and detremined that he will walk and it will not take him six months to do it. He's been trying since the day after the wreck to get his legs to move, he did move the left one from the hip. Which to me is amazing, cause when they say from the waist down I always thought the waist was above the hip! :) But this will be a very painful process for him. Physically as well as mentally and emotionally!
Anyways our family needs alot of prayers. We have to pull together now because this is gonna be a rough road ahead. We will be taking Atlanta in shifts. My sister still has a daughter in high school and an 8 month old to take car eof as well. So yeah just basically all I'm asking is that you pray. Pray for strength, recovery, and finanical prayers as well. This is gonna take a huge emotional and financial toll on the family!
~God Bless
I will also be posting this in my other groups and in my journal. Please vote popular, we need all the prayers we can get!

I am praying for your nephew Chad and the financial end to be ok as well. Stay strong. Praise God he is alive!
I am glad he was awake when he crashed and he wasnt left out there alone for ever. My prayers are with your family
You need to send in a complaint to the 911 manager (I work for a Fire Rescue Department so I can tell you what to do if you would like to PM me). They record all 911 calls, so they can pull the call Benj's mom made and they can listen to what the dispatcher said. That is BS that they wouldn't send help!
I hope he gets better soon!!
I am so sorry about your nephew. My thought are with you and your family
The situation with 911 is an outrage. You need to send this story to the local news, City government, County, State, etc. Launch a complaint wherever you need to to get that fixed. It's a terrifying thought to think about being in desperate need of help and not being able to get it.
