I'm a little late on this one, but wanted to get my 2 cents in.  ;-)

I read a lot of good books in 2008.  I work at the local library--it's a great job, but a difficult job to have with a family because there are so many good books that I want to bring home and read, but so little time to read them all!  I have not jumped on the Twilight train yet, but only because the books are never in at our library!  I applaud any books that get the teens reading, no matter what their subject.  And these are relatively harmless in my opinion--more a love story than anything else.  But as I said, I've yet to read them yet.

On to what I did read!  I loved Tithe, by Holly Black, and Wicked Lovely, by Melissa Marr. I also enjoyed: Whirlwind, by Cathy Marie Hake

A Mile in My Flip-Flops, by Melody Carlson

Act Two, by Kimberly Stuart

The City of Ember, by Jeanne DuPrau

Other books I read include The Book Thief, Jim the Boy, Dragonfly in Amber, Angelina Showdown, Dreamrider, and lots of paperbacks!  I'm hoping to keep better track in 2009, as I am heading up the 50-book challenge at the library.  We are challenging our patrons to read 50 books from the library in 2009 and creating an honor roll from those who reach that goal.

All things considered, it was a great year for good books!  Happy reading in 2009!

I've read Twilight - enjoy it when you get a chance.  Also, thanks for the tips on other books!  Have a great new year!
