ONCE I GET STARTED, HOW MUCH HELP WILL I RECEIVE?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our team has a National Vice President working directly with us. She has developed a wonderful training site for her team.
Our training site has step-by-step instructions on how to start your business and get into profit mode immediately.
Our team also has an online forum that contains a wealth of information to help us build a successful business. It contains how-tos, marketing tips, and allows us to connect with fellow dedicated team members who are building their AmeriPlan® businesses.
HOW MUCH OF AN INVESTMENT IS IT?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
AmeriPlan® provides you with a Training Kit which includes: marketing materials, enrollment forms and $50 in company credit which allows you to order additional items you pick out for yourself from our company store such as business cards, letterhead, additional brochures/DVDs, etc. This Training Kit is just $45.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO DO THE BUSINESS?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You are responsible for a $50/month business overhead cost. The first month's cost is due when your application is processed. However, in the future this cost can be taken out of your paycheck once you start earning money with the company, versus having it taken from whatever account you have established with them.
This fee covers:
  • IBO Support Website - this allows us to access our headquarters which is located in Dallas, Texas. This is the website we use to process applications, send/receive emails, check on team members and our paychecks... basically run our business.
  • Marketing Websites - which allow you to sign people up over the internet, which makes enrolling people very easy. AmeriPlan® also handles all of the maintenance and upgrades of these websites.
  • Household Membership - You receive Dental, Vision, Prescription and Chiropractic program for everyone in your household. You can elect to receive household medical if you wish.
  • Customer Support - Any questions your customers have are answered by AmeriPlan® directly. AmeriPlan® also handles all of the monthly billing and collections. They are available 60 hours every week for your customers!
  • Shipping - AmeriPlan® mails out membership packages to your customers and IBO Kits to your team members on your behalf. So, they take care of all of the shipping costs - and we don't have to keep any inventory in our homes.
Basically, AmeriPlan® handles all of the 'nitty-gritty' details of owning your own business so you don't have to!
You can either have the overhead fee drafted from a credit/debit card or from a checking/savings account. AmeriPlan® drafts the fee on either the 3rd or the 18th of every month. It is your choice when the draft will occur. Again, once you start earning money with the company, that overhead can come out of your earnings, versus whatever account you have set up with them.
ARE THERE ANY "HIDDEN" COSTS OR EXPENSES?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I always instruct all new IBOs to use what they currently have BEFORE adding any additional expenses to their business. After all, one of the reasons you are looking for a home-based business is to generate an income.

Should I have a separate, second telephone line when working from home with your company?
No. A professional outgoing message on your home line is fine.

Is there a cost for the AmeriPlan® websites?
The company websites are included in your monthly overhead fee. The Freedom at Home team website was created by our National Vice President and exclusive to our team. So, no one else in AmeriPlan® receives it. Since it is a 'bonus' website, it is optional. Most of our team members have elected to purchase the website though because it is a great tool. If you choose to receive the website, it is free for 90-days and afterwards just $8.95/month.

HOW DO I PREPARE TAXES?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you've ever heard people say that a home-based business is a great way to save money on taxes, they were right!
You're earnings are reported on the tax FORM 1099.
You'll want to keep all of your receipts over the year... and I mean EVERY receipt! The nice thing about a home-based business is that you can write off so much. Office supplies, your gas milage (if I have to mail something at the post office I do all my errands around that and then I can write off all the mileage), long distance, cell phone, etc. So, if you make $50,000 this year in your business and your receipts total $5,000 you have a gain of $45,000 and that is what you pay taxes on. You only have to pay federal and state taxes. There's no medical, social security, FUTA... or anything like that. It's treated as "additional income" like the interest on your savings account.
WHY WOULD I PAY SOMEONE TO WORK?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You should never pay someone to work for them. If you're talking about a "job" over the internet you should never pay anyone - otherwise it is a scam.

I can't think of any home-based business that does not have a start up cost. A "business" is different than a "job". Here are the differences:

  1. You are not paid on a W2 form because you are not an employee. You are paid on the 1099 form as an independent contractor. The 1099 form allows you to save a lot on your taxes through itemizing your business expenses. (see the paragraph above)
  2. You actually own the business. You can sell your business or will it to your spouse or your children. It's something that you actually own!
  3. Think of it this way: If you wanted to open up a bakery in your town you would have certain costs associated with that business. You would have no 'name' established for yourself, you would have to probably use some sort of software to maintain your 'back office' so you can keep track of your employees, and you might even buy server space so you can host a website for your business. All of these expenses add up. If you wanted to open up a McDonald's (or other franchise that has a 'name' associated with it) you would pay thousands of dollars in franchise fees each year. With AmeriPlan® you get your websites, training, a paperless office because AmeriPlan® takes care of that for you , and the day you start your business it is 15-years-old, and has a 'name' for itself. All of this is handled for you.

HOW DO YOU ADVERTISE YOUR BUSINESS?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are several ways in which you can advertise your business. You can advertise either on the internet or locally. Part of our training is to work with you on what your comfort level is and how you wish to market. The majority of our team members do their business on the internet.
Your advertising budget is your own. In our training, we show you how to do this business on a 'shoe string budget'. Here are some examples...
Free - You can download fliers for church bulletin boards, word of mouth, talking to people you already know, free neighborhood newsletters, free places online to advertise, getting free leads from advertising agencies, the list goes on.
Inexpensive - 250 business cards for $5.00, brochures for 15 cents apiece, inexpensive leads from advertising agencies (30-50 cents apiece)
Expensive - Paying an advertising agency to advertise for you. You can pay $.50-$4.00 apiece for a lead. By the way, a lead is someone's contact information who answered an ad saying that they want someone to call them about a home-based business or about benefits. You can also advertise online and that can be $5.00-$200.00+ a month or so depending upon which website you choose.
We encourage you to advertise for free or inexpensively until your business is paying for itself. Then we encourage you to invest into your business and maybe buy more expensive advertising if you want.
AM I COMMITTED TO A CONTRACT?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your commitment to AmeriPlan® is on a month by month basis. You can quit at any time. You can either write a letter, email or fax AmeriPlan® requesting to cancel.

We have no quotas. So, if you would like to take some time off, that isn't a problem. Your business will never be taken away from you.
