Ok, so if you read my post before about my symptoms I've been having, I went to see my dr. and she's completely stumped.  She has no clue.  She asked that I follow up with the meds that she put me on, which I started taking last week and quit after 2 days.  Anywho.......so I called and told her I still didn't feel good.  They asked me to describe my symptoms and I could describe some, but others I couldn't.  I just didn't feel good.  I think it was mostly being extremely tired after all the holiday stuff, but I just felt horrible.  They followed up with saying they were referring me to Dr. Such and Such and I said ok, who was he?  They said he's a psychiatrist.  I'm like I'm NOT FRIKKIN crazy?!!!!!?  They said well they were just wanting to be sure they were doing everything possible and just wanted to follow up however they could to make sure they were doing everything in their power to make sure I was ok.  They couldn't get a hold of the receptionist there, so they'd follow up and call me back to schedule an appt.  Well nobody called and I got a packet of paper in the mail today a half a mile thick of papers I was to fill out and take back with me, and that my appt wasn't even until Feb 20..............I called and cancelled the appt and will get a second opinion from someone else.  I am sooooooooo totally NOT crazy and when I talked to my parents about it this week, my dad says he's been suffering from the same symptoms I've had for the last 2 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I'm like WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?  Are you kidding me???????????  So I now know I'm totally not crazy!!!  Whatever it is my dad and I both have this, and it's driving both of us crazy!!!  He's had all kinds of tests and they can't tell him what it is either.............so now what?  lol  We just keep comparing symptoms to find out that we have more and more in common.

BTW, our symptoms are........

feeling like we're on drugs even tho we're not, brain cloud, out of our head, light headed, kind of dizzy feeling, racing heart, feeling like we have an inability to take a deep breath, difficulty driving, feeling like we can't keep focused,  shaky, hot flashes, cold chills, extreme fatigue, I have points where I feel like I'm going to black out, nauseousness, I don't know what else......

It's really wierd.  My dad is a diagnosed diabetic, and I have problems with hypoglycemia, but we don't really think it's our sugar.......who knows........but I know I'm NOT seeing a psychiatrist..........lol

Jan. 2, 2009 at 11:51 PM This sounds crazy but increase you water and salt intake and see if it helps. I have a problem that I can't get diagnosed due to the specialist not being a part of the plan. My heart races and I get nauseous easily. It feels like an increadible anxiety attack. I saw an episode of mystery diagnosis and the lady had the same symptoms. The disease is called dysautonomia. Check it out there are a couple of sites out there

Have they checked your thyroid?  Sounds a lot like my symptoms when I was hypothryoid.

I hear your frustration about the whole brain/body connection.  My DH was having stroke like symptoms (probably TIAs) this fall and instead of doing things that made sense like MRI's they sent him to the neuropsychologist.  I was pissed!  God bless him-he was a trooper about it.  Said that if it was connected to his brain then maybe they could help fix it.  Did the neuropsych exam that showed that the symptoms were purely physical and not psychological at all.  He was glad he did the test though so he could take it to his doctor and say "Now figure it out!"  good luck to you.  Have your thyroid checked if they haven't already done so.

yeah they've checked my thyroid and everything else in my blood levels they could check.  Everything came back ok.  She even ordered an EKG and it came back fine i guess?!?  She said they probably couldn't really diagnose it unless I come in in the middle of a horrible episode and then maybe they could figure it out.  I'm like you mean I have to go through feeling like I'm dying AGAIN?  to figure it out this time?  WT........????

Hey have you been tested for allergies?? This sounds really weird, but I felt really cloudy, lights in stores bothered me, I felt extremely tired and fatigued, and just felt yucky. A lot of the symptoms you are descrbing, I had.....I went to every doctor possible. I also was getting sinus infections twice a month or more. I finally went to an allergist and got tested. I was allergic to a lot of things. I started getting allergy shots and I felt 95% better within a few weeks!! I would strongly encourage you both to check that out! I felt SO much better, and I stopped getting sinus infections. Instead of having sneezing , itchy eyes, etc...I had sinus infections and just felt weird. I hope this helps you out! I had gone to every dr possible including a OBGYN because I thought maybe my hormones were out of whack. Also, I develped all of this in my early 20's......having no previous allergies or issues, EVER. So, I still get my allergy shots, and they help tremdendously. Good LUck, I hope you can find out what it is!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you might want to consider a more holistic approach.  Consider meditation, yoga and Ayurveda.  I am a yoga instructor and also teach Ayurveda.  It is truly a wonderful alternate cure for your symptoms.  google the word Ayurveda and you will get lots of information.  Chopra.com has wonderful stuff as well.  PDQ - elementalom.com
