The Worst Day of my Life

Well the title to this pretty much says it all.

They went to put a temporary VAD machine in Mandi today as her heart function had went down and her organs were not getting blood supply that they needed. So the next step was to try and help her heart by putting in the temporary VAD machine.

They were moving Mandi from her bed to the operating table she was on the operating table about 5 minutes when she started crashing they did CPR for 20 minutes and tried to put her on emergency heart lines to pump her blood but her femeral artieries were to small to use so they had tried everything they could to save her but they could not save her.

My daughter died at about 4:45 p.m. today (January 2nd) she tried to hold on and she fought a very hard battle but I think she needed to be with Karson more than she needed to stay with me.

I must go for now as I must figure out how to be a mom to only one now.

Oh my God, I am so sorry... I have been following Mandi's story, and I was so hoping she'd pull through. I know nothing I can say will make this any easier, but please know my thoughts are with you and your family.

I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter and grandson. I prayed so hard for her to get better. I know it is no comfort, but she is with her son now and holding him in her arms. No amount of words will make this any easier for you. My daughter told me as soon as you called her. We both cried. She is still crying. Young parents now a days seem to go thru so much more then we did at there age. My thoughts are with you.

Oh my God!  I am so very sorry!  I know how hard it must be for you.  While I was still in the hospital, my father died suddenly and unexpectedly a week after I gave birth to my son.  I know it's not the same as losing a child.  I think remembering that Mandi would want to be with Karson is a good thing.  She was so excited about having him & preparing for his arrival.  I think she'd want to be with him as well.  My thoughts are with you.
