And to kick it off, my laptop decided to DIE. The hard drive, specifically, but it just up and died. So very thankfully though, DH was able to figure that out, and he replaced the HD for me - bless his heart! I told him there was no rush on it (meant it, too) but I only went two days without it! There's still a little bit to get up and running but I can use the internet for today. Finally was able to check my email - there were about 20 waiting for me! So with the death of my hard drive and loss of (thankfully unimportant) information and documents, this year I decided to make an actual resolution in January rather than waiting for my birthday to roll around:
I am going to learn everything I can about this MacBook. If something happens again I don't want to have to bother DH with fixing it for me. I'm the one with a Mac, and I should be the one to care for it inside and out. Big props to my SIL too, she gave me a year subscription to MacWorld magazine too! And I do have her I can chat with about Mac, since she has one too.
So, now you all know why I've been so absent from internetland. LOL.
Now the personal bad news - I let myself get back up to 210 pounds. Eeks. Yeah, you read that right, 210. And I know I was down at 194 just a few months ago! What happened? Oh, I can tell you that - starting after Halloween I helped eat the kids' candy, started making bigger (carb heavy) meals, and stopped moving enough. A week at Mom's surrounded by snacks on top of good food didn't help either, and I never did take one walk while we were there. Believe me, I did curse myself for that! I did wake up one morning and made pancakes for everyone, and while cooking I listened to music and danced around a little. Not enough, but a little, and every little bit helps, right? So yesterday I walked in front of the morning news for 10 minutes, then went to the mall later in the day where we both walked the length of the mall and back. I purposely parked way out in North Carolina (LOL) and we went to the furthest store first, stopped to eat a Gyro (yum!), and kept up a great walking pace in between stores. We were there a total of an hour or so, so I'm guessing I got at least another 15 minutes of exercise in. Today there's no one here but me and I've already got the music going - as soon as I finish writing this it's off to the exercising! I'm completely sick of being over 200 pounds, and knowing I got under that before - especially so recently - I can do better. I AM better!
The clock just sounded 9:30 so it's time to get moving. I hope everyone had a great holiday vacation! I'll update our family blog with pics as soon as I can.
Have a groovy week!!

I'm ready for some changes too!!!!! My "resolution" for 2009 pertaining to weight/diet/exercise...is 5 lbs a month...that would put me where I want to be by New Years Eve 2009! Baby steps all year long! I'm off to just a tad of a late start, but...well, life happens! LOL!
I'm going to be starting TODAY with doing the walking exercise video On Demand {does that even make sense??} anyway, it's on the cable...thank goodness because I have NO CLUE where my dvd is of the same show!!
Good luck friend!! And I'm here right with you!!
