Well we have started with Jason's New Years Resolutions. First, get off the soft spout sippy cups. He uses them as a bottle, and wants one to go to sleep with. This one so far has been going pretty well. We told him they are "gone gone", and he doesn't need one to sleep. It is actually working. By day 6, he still asks for one, but he doesn't really throw a fit when we say "no." He goes to sleep on his own, no rocking or cuddling. YEAH!!!!
Second, get him to sleep in his own toddler bed. Yes, he sleeps with us at night. He got RSV last year, and he was really ill. We kept him with us to monitor his breathing. Being a preemie, we have always worried about his health. Since then, he has started to sleep with us. It doesn't bother us, but we don't want him to get used to it. He has started taking his naps in his bed again. Long story short, he prefers the chair to a bed for naps. Have yet to figure that one out. He has went to his bed twice at night, but wakes up early in the morning scared and disoriented. He usually wonders into a corner and sits in the floor crying. Heartbreaking.
Third, POTTY TRAINING!!! The MOST difficult one of all. I have been trying to work with him since he was 18 months. I pushed him a little too hard, and he was hiding in a cabinet and using it as a potty. I let up until now. We have gotten as far as he thinks it's fun to stand in front of the potty like Daddy. He has used it twice that way, but that's it. He is starting to tell me "potty" every so often. I ask him if he needs to go every two hours, but he just stands there at the potty laughing. No BM. He tells me after he is done he pooped. He doesn't like to sit on the potty. He screams and cries. This one is certainly going to be difficult. Hopefully by the time he is three...SIGH.....

Sounds like wonderful progress... just remember, too many changes at once can be overwhelming for a little one.
