My son was diagnosed with food allergies this past Monday. He is six years old and now we need to find a new way to eat. As of right now he is to have no tree nuts ( peanut butter is okay) no red dye, no  shellfish, no strawberries. We haven't done an exact testing so I am going to keep a food journal on him and go from there. If he has another out break like the other day I will push the testing on him so I know exactly what it is he is allergic to.The worst is going to probably be the red dye...since this is found in so many products.

If anyone has any good websites or recipes for lunches it would be very helpful! Since I will be packing his lunch from here on out so I know what he is and isn't eating. Thanks!!

I am also new on this journey.  My two year old was diagnosed with peanut, milk, and egg allergy and my four year old son was diagnosed with peanut, tree nut, soy, corn, wheat (gluten), and sesame seed allergies.  This is a SCARY thing!  Barnes and Noble has GREAT cookbooks all about food allergies and substitutions.  You can also check out the FAAN website.  FAAN is the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network.  They can lead you to many sources!!  BIG HUGS!!
