I got this idea from a Christian Toddler Moms group I'm in. It's called a Countdown to Valentine's Day...
You'll need a blank puzzle (apparently available at Michael's, teachers' supply stores, etc.). Make a print of your child's hand on the puzzle. Mail one piece every day to grandparent, aunt, etc. until Valentine's Day.
Here's another idea from the children's ministry at my church:
They are currently learning about thanking Jesus for being their friend and loving them (they're nearly 3). Cut out hearts from construction paper. Each time your child remembers to thank Jesus, tape a heart up (on the fridge, near their bed if it's prayer-time, etc.).
Last year for Valentine's, we had a Valentine's making party for the little kids in our neighborhood. It was so much fun! I had pink glitter on my floor for at least 2 months afterward:) One little girl's dad was in Iraq, so it was very special for her. Thank God, he is home this year. I think we'll have another party this year, it was such a hit.
I served Valentine's Breakfast for Dinner - Pancakes with red food coloring cut into heart shapes and sausage patties cut into tiny heart shapes.
